Skip the long queue for Table Mountain’s cable car with Fast Track tickets

Published on

As tourists continue to flock to the Mother City, sightseers are reminded that they can opt for the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway’s Fast Track tickets. This means visitors to the tourist hotspot can skip the queue and head straight to the cable car, by purchasing the fast-track return ticket for R950.

TMACC’s finance executive director, Selma Hercules says this eliminates long waiting times.

“We are very happy to see how popular our city is. Visitors come to us from near and far, and we always want to make their visit as enjoyable as possible. The cableway understands that some visitors may be pressed for time, and they cannot stand in long queues,” said Hercules.

Queues at the site could take up to three hours at times. Cape Town experienced a record-breaking tourist season this past summer, and the cableway company celebrates its 95th birthday later this year.

“We hope our fast-track ticket would be an easy way for them to get to the top as quickly as possible so that they can also enjoy Cape Town’s beloved Table Mountain,” said Hercules.

The current operating times are 08:00 AM, when the cable car makes its first ascent for the day, until the final descent at 7:30 PM. Prospective winter travellers are also advised to remember that the Cableway closes for annual maintenance from 15 July until 1 September.

Travellers who want adventure without the hassle of waiting in queues can book a Fast Track ticket online, or at the ticket office at the foot of the mountain.
