The Market is set to take place on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 2023 at the Atlantis Heritage Market in Robinvale. The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, James Vos, says he is excited to bring My Cape Town Market to Atlantis. The town is home to a “thriving community of traders” who create unique crafts, Alderman Vos said:

Whether you’re an artist, a gadget guru, or a whiz with a whisk, this market is an ideal opportunity to show what you’ve got

My Cape Town Market Atlantis is set to showcase emerging artists, a children’s play zone and buskers.

This comes after the super successful My Cape Town Market Green Point on Sunday, 7 May. The market featured local, trendy designs, fashion, lekker foods and beverages. The City says the first market in Green Point was a hit, that it returned to the Old Bowling Green over the weekend:

The first My Cape Town Market Green Point brought together a wonderful mix of traders, selling everything from baked goods to flowers, homeware and clothing. And the live entertainment and kids’ play area gave it even more of a buzz

Neighbourhood markets, according to Vos, has become massively popular in recent years. It is a platform where locals can “reclaim that sense of community” and it offers international visitors a real “taste of South Africa”:

As the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, I am proud to support these platforms that give these up-and-coming entrepreneurs and creators the scope to re-connect with previous customers, find new fans, and boost economic opportunities
