For the very first time in a decade, the Iziko Museums will increase its entry fees. This is effective from April 01, 2023. The increased prices comes after it undertook a benchmarking assessment of local, regional, and national cultural/heritage attractions.
Standard entry fees are payable at all Iziko museums, but visitors who present an SA ID or passport will receive a country benefit! The group says the new entrance fees take “communities and visitors into consideration”. It adds that its museums remain a “unique” value-for-money experience in the Mother City.

The cultural institution says it is committed to reactivating Iziko into all of its museums. Iziko is an isiXhosa word meaning ‘hearth’. This is traditionally the social centre where stories were exchanged and knowledge was passed from one generation to the next.
