President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the SONA on Thursday, the 9th of February. There are also roads being closed from today (Monday).

Cape Town Traffic: ” To assist with traffic flow and accommodate the State of the Nation Address, the City of Cape Town will effect road closures that will primarily be in the Central Business District.”

With the SONA happening later this week, here is all the information you need to be informed about the routes into and out of the city.

A spokesperson for the City’s Traffic Service, Maxine Bezuidenhout, says some road closures will be in effect from today, Monday until Wednesday. This will allow for rehearsals to be held, on the streets in the CBD.
Bezuidenhout added: “The road closures will affect the normal flow of traffic in and around the city bowl.”
