Erling Haaland, the Records Keep Breaking

There is an unstoppable force in the English Premier League, and his name is Erling Haaland. We all expected the 22-year-old to do well in England’s top flight, but what he’s been capable of doing has been ridiculous.

Since his debut in the league, the man has been breaking records nearly non-stop.

Manchester City got the young talent on their books for a substantial amount. In total, the Citizens put £85.5m down for Haaland to make the move from Borussia Dortmund, and it has been money well spent.

A hat-trick of hat-tricks

This weekend saw him break yet another record. He became the first player to score three consecutive hat-tricks in the Premier League.

The latest came in a Manchester derby, where Andrei Kanchelskis was the last to register three in this derby, netting for United in November 1994.

Haaland rules the fantasy league

There is a reason he features 82.1 percent of teams in the Premier League Fantasy League. The man has been raking in the points.

Over the past nine matches, the Norwegian has earned 96 points. Forty more than his nearest rival, Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

Haaland made some more history on a fantasy front. He became the most captained player ever for a single game week.

He has also found the back of the net nine times in his first five Premier League appearances. One more than Mick Quinn and Sergio Aguero. Haaland has the fewest touches of the ball per goal.

On Route 66

The man is on track to smash the goal-scoring record for the season. He has fourteen in his first eight matches, which is, as it stands, just 20 off the record. If Haaland continues on this trajectory, he should end with 66 goals this season.

However, you can only take joy from the fact if you’re a Manchester City supporter. There seems to be no stopping the Norwegian. No plan can keep him at bay. He has a master key to unlock all Premier League defences.

Erling Haaland isn’t only a scorer, but a creator as well. He was directly involved in five of the six goals. He has two assists to his name from this weekend’s Manchester derby, helping teammate Phil Foden to a hat-trick of his own.

Despite all this, Manchester City still lags behind Arsenal atop the Premier League table. They are just one point off the pace. However, due to their consistent performances, and their habit of unlocking defences and finding the back of the net, they are favourites to defend their title.
