Cape Town's economy would see a significant boost with the hosting of its first Formula E race in February 2023.

The Mother City’s economy would see a significant boost with the hosting of its first Formula E race in February 2023.

Illana Pereira, from Tourvest Destination Management, spoke to eNCA and says sports tourism is already a big money generator for the Western Cape.

She says if Cape Town gets the green light to host this event it will just further boost the City’s international profile.

Pereira attended the London Formula E-race this past weekend and says Cape Town has provisionally been rostered to host the February 2023 event.
