Job seekers warned of bogus employers, illegal use of IDs for benefits

The Unemployment Insurance Fund says it has been inundated with complaints connected to bogus employers who illegally use the identity numbers of job seekers to register them with the fund. The UIF says some of these fake employers have claimed Covid-19 TERS benefits and, in some cases, unemployment benefits. The Department of Labour has urged job seekers to be careful who they share their ID numbers with.
