International arrivals to the Western Cape have started recovering to almost pre-pandemic levels

The provincial MEC of Finance and Economic Opportunities, Mireille Wenger, has welcomed the latest figures by Statistics SA which indicate that international arrivals to the province have started recovering to almost pre-pandemic levels.

Wenger says most notably, in April 2022, visitors from the UK arriving at Cape Town International Airport recovered to an almost perfect 98% of pre-pandemic levels.

Wenger says the provincial government will now work even harder to encourage more overseas and regional tourists to choose the Western Cape as their holiday destination.
