Stage 4 loadshedding is currently being implemented across the country, while the city of Cape Town users is on Stage 2. At 4 o’clock this afternoon, national users will move up to Stage 6 — and in the Mother City, to Stage 4, but that’s only from this afternoon.
Eskom has meanwhile said that varying stages of loadshedding will be implemented during the week. Outages will persist over the next few weeks – as it will take a while for the power generation system to fully recover to pre-strike levels. At the same time, a meeting with unions over wage increases is due to take place tomorrow.

Meanwhile: Eskom has again assured South Africans that the power system is not about to collapse due to the increased stages of loadshedding recently experienced. In the latest development, the 2 unions representing workers at the power utility have agreed to take a new wage offer to workers. They will report back to Eskom tomorrow.
