Health Department defends decision to use post offices to distribute chronic medication

Published on

The Health Department has defended its decision to use post offices to distribute chronic medication.

This is after the department received criticism that post offices do not know how to dispense or keep drugs safe.

Health department spokesperson Foster Mohale says post offices will only be distributing, not dispensing the drugs.

Mohale says patients can also collect their medicines at other distribution points and retail pharmacies such as Clicks and Dischem stores.
