President Cyril Ramaphosa says he has been advised not to respond to speculation regarding the robbery on his Limpopo Farm in 2020, and he has reiterated that law enforcement agencies should be given the space to investigate the matter.
Ramaphosa made the comment in Parliament as he was delivering his response on Friday to the debate on the Presidency’s budget vote the day before.
Proceedings were delayed for more than 3 hours due to the EFF causing disruptions for the second day running.
EFF MP’s were again removed from the Good Hope Chamber after continuing to call Ramaphosa a criminal.
But Ramaphosa says he will not respond to insults and conjecture.
The Former State Security Agency (SSA) director-general Arthur Fraser laid criminal charges against President Cyril Ramaphosa at a Johannesburg police station earlier in June, accusing him of defeating the ends of justice, kidnapping of suspects, interrogating and bribing them and thereafter concealing the crime from the police.
Fraser alleges $4 million (more than R60 million) was stolen from the game farm.
Ramaphosa refuted the claims the day after:
President Ramaphosa is clear that there is no basis for the claims of criminal conduct that have been made against him in Mr Fraser’s statement.

Ramaphosa now says he has been advised not to respond on the matter, as it is under investigation:
The robbery that took place on my farm Phala Phala in 2020 is the subject of a criminal complaint, and the law must take its course. In other words, due process must be followed.
