WATCH: The moment a light aircraft crash landed on the R44

Arrive Alive says two men were injured this morning after their light aircraft performed an emergency landing on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Strand.

ER24, Western Cape Fire and Metro Rescue arrived to find the wrecked aircraft in the middle of the busy road. Two men were seen seated near the aircraft.

Medics assessed the men and found that one had sustained serious injuries while the other had escaped with minor injuries. Fortunately, no fatalities were found.

The patients were treated and provided with pain-relief medication before being transported to Mediclinic Stellenbosch for urgent care.

It is unclear what led to the forced landing.

The plane belongs to the 4 Aviators Pilot Training and Charters academy.
