Department of Social Development: GBV cases is a serious cause for concern

The Western Cape Department of Social Development says the number of cases referred by the GBV Command Centre is a serious cause for concern. According to spokesperson, Joshua Chigome, the numbers show that crime and gender-based violence is a challenge that continues, to impact the well-being of residents. Between April last year, and March this year, the GBV Command Council reported over 200 cases of physical violence, and 60 cases of emotional abuse.
