The state of disaster could be re-instated if the situation worsens in die country
Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla says if more people get vaccinated against covid-19 in the country, to reach a 70% vaccination rate or higher, the preventative measures, currently in place, will become unnecessary. Phaahla yesterday repeated, the country is not yet over the pandemic, even if it is in a stable phase. Phaahla says allegations that government wants to control people couldn’t be further from the truth.
While the State of Disaster might have been lifted, several measures are still in place like indoor masks and limits on gatherings, for at least the next 30 days. After that the pandemic will be managed under the National Health Act.
