WHO to continue working to boost the availability of vaccines

Published on

The World Health Organization (WHO) says it will continue to work with countries around the globe to further boost the availability of life-saving vaccines.

The WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus says vaccines should not only be available during times like the Covid-19 pandemic but also to fight other deadly diseases on a daily basis.

He says the development and distribution of vaccines have already lead to the eradication of smallpox and the near-eradication of diseases such as meningitis, polio, and tetanus.
