The 29-year old Sinaye Siqhuma had preyed on female hitchhikers along the N2 near Grabouw since 2018. He won their trust by offering assistance and would then take them to a secluded area where he raped them. He was convicted on 7 charges of rape and sentenced to life imprisonment on all the charges. The Provincial police Commissioner Thembisile Patekile has commended the investigation and the prosecuting teams.
