South Africa’s first ever South African Diabetes Summit will be held today.

This as Diabetes is the number one killer of women in South Africa, and the second leading cause of death in men, according to data from Stats SA. At the same time, the International Diabetes Federation says one in two people with diabetes is undiagnosed. The Diabetes Alliance, in partnership with the University of Pretoria Diabetes Research Centre, will be hosting the summit.
