Experts say so called “long-Covid” is just as common in people who have had relatively mild infections, as those who had a severe infection.

This is according to epidemiologist Prof Salim Abdool Karim.

The World Heatlh Organisation has released a document outlining a formal definition for long-Covid, which it now calls “post COVID-19 condition.”

Long-Covid can have a variety of symptoms including fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, and several others that can impact daily functioning.

Karim, who also serves on the WHO’s Science Council, says many more people suffer from long-Covid than initially thought.
