Infectious diseases expert and professor at the University of Cape Town, Professor Marc Mendelson has urged residents to disregard the vaccine misinformation being spread on social media.
Mendelson was reacting to claims, recently made by a well-known Cape Town heart-surgeon, that the vaccines are not safe.
He says he works on the front line of the Covid-19 battle and has seen how unvaccinated people are severely impacted by the virus.
He says the claims are false, untrue and full of inaccuracies.
