Immunization-expert, Professor Hannelie Meyer says South Africans should rest assured that the covid-19 vaccines are safe and highly effective against the virus.
Meyer, chair of the National Immunization Safety Expert Committee, says more than 43,000 volunteers partook in the clinical studies, before the vaccines were released for public use.
She says the vaccines are also continually monitored for safety.
