The acting Health Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane says even though Covid-19 field hospitals in Gauteng were decommissioned last year, there are still enough hospital beds available to accommodate and treat critically ill patients.

She says field-hospitals, such as the NASREC centre, were deactivated in 2020 due to cost-concerns and the low-levels of hospitalization.
