Cape Town police say a man has been killed in a shoot-out with law-enforcement officers over the weekend.

Police were responding to a shooting incident on the corner of Borcherds Quarry and Klipfontein roads in which a man was injured.

When they arrived at the scene, police officers came under fire.

They returned fire and one man, a 41-year-old suspect was fatally wounded.

A 31-year-old suspect was arrested following the shoot-out, while police seized two unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
