The Western Cape Covid-19 death toll has risen to 11 809 after another 6 Covid deaths were reported yesterday.

This was the country’s fourth highest death toll, over the past 24-hour monitoring period, with the North West recording the most casualties – 44 in total – yesterday.

In Gauteng 17 Covid deaths were reported and in the Free State 8.

The country’s overall Covid-19 death toll now stands at 56 439.
