Two suspects aged 28 and 35 are due to appear in the Atlantis Magistrates’ Court tomorrow after they were arrested on charges of the possession of illegal abalone.

Police pulled over a white truck as well as a white Audi driving on the N7 highway direction in Malmesbury yesterday.

Both vehicles were then inspected and dried abalone was found in a hidden compartment underneath the truck.

70 boxes of abalone with an estimated street value of R9.9 million was confiscated.
