Western Cape ramps up registration of pensioners on EVDS-system

Published on

The Western Cape MEC for Health, Dr Nomfarench Mbombo says her Department has been hard at work to help as many people – who are in line to be vaccinated under phase 2 of the country’s vaccination-strategy – get registered on the EVDS system.

Speaking during the weekly digicon last week, Mbombo said community healthcare workers had been doing house-calls in some Cape Town neighborhoods, to help pensioners register for their Covid-19 jab.

She says the main purpose of the vaccination-drive is to protect the province’s healthcare system from becoming overwhelmed when another wave of infections occur.
