South Africa is expecting a possible third wave of coronavirus infections after Easter as previously warned by scientists and government officials. But Cabinet ministers who are part of the Command Council are lobbying for large church gatherings to be allowed over Easter because “churches have been behaving”. The NCCC was also advised to close big beaches and restrict interprovincial travel to avoid super-spreader events, which are expected over Easter. An NCCC meeting is planned for today and is expected to decide the matter.
