South Africans urged to help stave off loadshedding

If South Africans start using less electricity, demand on the national grid would be markedly decreased, which could help stave off load-shedding.

This, according to the National Energy Development Institute, which says that if residents start using electricity “smarter” they too can benefit, by reducing their monthly electricity bills.

General Manager: Corporate Communications at SANEDI, Barry Bredenkamp gives consumers some electricity-savings tips.

He says a collective approach is needed to reduce the country’s overall energy-bill.
