The national Department of Health says the more Covid-19 is encouraged to spread, the higher the chances of it mutating into a more aggressive, less-controllable form.
South Africans have therefore been urged to exercise the same amount of caution, they have over the Christmas-holidays, to, this Easter long-weekend, avoid a resurgence of the virus.
Spokesperson at the Department, Dr. Lwazi Manzi says with thousands of people that will be traveling this coming long weekend, sticking to the set health- and safety regulations would be key in keeping the virus at bay.
She says cooperation would help a third wave from hitting South Africa.
