NSFAS-funding to be prioritized for first-time University students

Published on

The Minister of Higher Education and Science, Blade Nzimande says new funding, via the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, would this year only be made available to those students who are entering Universities or college for the first time.

The Minister gave an update on NSFAS funding yesterday, after earlier this week confirming that the Scheme is currently facing severe financial-challenges.

Nzimande says funding would also be made available to returning students, who are performing academically well.
