Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has warned government will need to review the current restrictions and consider further measures to curb the alarming rate at which Covid-19 is currently spreading throughout the country.

In a statement last night, Mkhize said the rate of spread is much faster than the first wave, and we will surpass the peak of the first wave in the coming days.

411 additional Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, which brings the death toll to 25 657. South Africa recorded over 14 000 more coronavirus cases bringing the total number of cumulative infections to just over 954 200.
