Absa has confirmed that one of its credit analysts, sold the personal information of 200-thousand clients to third parties. The bank says the employee sold the identity numbers, descriptions of financed vehicles, addresses and contact details of clients, to third parties who could potentially use the information to commit fraud. The bank says the passwords and PIN codes of clients were not included in this illegal sale.
