“Keep your loved-ones safe from covid-19 this Christmas”

Published on

The World Health Organization’s Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, has called on individuals across the globe, to find “other, safer ways” to celebrate the up-coming Christmas holidays, to avoid spreading covid-19 to their loved ones.

Van Kerkhove, the WHO’s COVID-19 technical lead, says people run a real risk of contracting and spreading the virus, when travelling home for the festive season.

Van Kerkhove urges people to assess their own individual risks, before deciding to meet up with loved ones at their homes or during family-gatherings.
