The WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, says there is now real hope that a covid-19 vaccine will help to end the corona-virus pandemic.

Ghebreyesus’ comment comes after the news this week that pharmaceutical company Astra-Zeneca announced that its Covid-19 vaccine, developed with the Oxford University, was up to 90% effective.

Ghebreyesus says Astra-Zeneca is the third major drug company, after Pfizer and Modern, to have reported successes in their trails for a potential Covid-19 vaccine.
