Premier Alan Winde has thanked the South African Police Services and law enforcement for their professional management of the EFF-protest in Brackenfell. He also thanked the residents of Brackenfell for heeding the call to avoid the area. Chaos erupted when the police fired tear gas, stun grenades and used a water cannon on protesters. Party members were protesting against alleged racism at the school after reports of a whites-only matric ball last month.
