The Democratic Alliance has asked that Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, immediately provide answers on how Shepherd Bushiri, and his wife, Mary, managed to flee South Africa. Bushiri, his wife, and two other suspects were set to stand trial for allegations of fraud, theft, and money laundering to the value of R102-million. The DA in a press-statement says the pair reportedly fled South Africa for Malawi, crossing the border illegally, after bribing Home Affairs officials.
