Premier Alan Winde delivered a special address to the Western Cape Provincial Parliament on Thursday in which he detailed the work the province has done in the fight against COVID-19 and chartered the way forward for the Western Cape’s recovery.
He says his administration will focus “courageously and single-mindedly” on creating jobs, making the province safer and promoting dignity and well-being for all residents.
Winde says although the province is estimated to shed 150 000 jobs, due to the covid-19 pandemic, they are now working towards boosting job-creation. Winde
says the aim is to create nearly 20-thousand jobs for residents, as a matter of urgency. The Premier says the province’s private sector will play a pivotal role in this job-creation.
