The latest census of black and white rhino-populations, conducted in the Kruger National Park, shows that the numbers of both species, decreased over the past 5 years. The census, between 2013 and 2018, show that rhino populations shrunk by more than 50%. In 2018, there were 4,116 white rhino and 291 black rhino in the Park, while in 2013, there were 8,968 white rhino, and 627 black rhinos in the game reserve.
