74th Annual Emmy Awards – list of winners

The 74th annual Emmy Awards saw some fan-favourites bagging the prize, alongside recurring achievers and a few dark horses.

 

South Korean actor, Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian star to win the Emmy award for his role in Netflix’s Squid Game. The show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk received the award for best drama series director – also becoming the first Asian to do so.

 

The outstanding drama award went to Succession, for a second year running. The drama’s creator, Jesse Armstrong took a stab at the British monarchy during his acceptance speech. A fellow Briton, Brett Goldstein was also among the acting winners which included Amanda Seyfried, Zendaya, Jean Smart and Michael Keaton.
