Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter has assured South Africans that the 2022 State of the Nation address will not be affected by loadshedding.

Eskom yesterday afternoon announced the implementation of stage 2 loadshedding saying that although it would be suspended this morning, the power cuts could last later into the week.

De Ruyter says plans are in place to ensure the uninterrupted hosting of the SONA.

He says they will work with the City of Cape Town municipality to ensure that the proceedings are not interrupted.
