Traditionally, a lot of sweets are given out on Halloween. It’s become something that’s started picking up in popularity in South Africa, and Smile Breakfast tech producer JM Henning got thinking about 5 sweets that deserve a comeback just for one night:
- Tempo
This unassuming choccie doesn’t seem all that scary, but honestly, it was unsettling to see how many of these a child would eat in one sitting.
- Cadbury YES/NO bar
The most confusing chocolate to ever grace SA shelves. Whichever sadistic, evil genius came up with the idea of communication thorough the medium of chocolate bar should be locked up forever. Asking your crush out is awkward enough, now you have to try and decipher what it means when they eat the “YES” and give you back the “NO”. Absolutely horrifying.
- Chips ahoy
The ultimate trick or treat snack. The packaging would trick you into believing you’re in for a treat chock-a-block with choc chips. you’d be lucky to find a cookie with more than 5 chips.
- Holey Moley’s
Nothing was better than inserting your fingers into these chocolate snacks and walking around like Edward-cookie-hands. Your mother would be less than delighted when she saw the chocolaty smears all over her furniture, though.
1.FFWD bar
This blue monstrosity is a terror all on its own. Not to mention the harrowing sight of a blue faced child wiping the goop from their mouths, knowing you’re going to have to endure the sugar high of a life time. Giving a gremlin water is about as life threatening as giving a child a FFWD bar.
