Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye set two new Guinness World Records titles: Most Monthly Listeners on Spotify (111.4 million), and First Artist to Reach 100 Million Monthly Listeners on Spotify.

The there is quite a gaping hole between that impressive number and the next artist on the list.
Miley Cyrus currently has 82.4 million monthly listeners following her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation.
Other artists trailing the record-breaker is Shakira with 81.6 million listeners and Ariana Grande with 80.6 million listeners. Rihanna joins the crew with 78.5 million listeners and Ed Sheeran comes in with 77.5 million listeners.

The 33-year-old Canadian singer joins the ranks with Michael Jackson as the only article with multiple Number 1 songs from three of his albums. His success is in part thanks to the release of ‘Die For You (remix)’ with Ariana Grande:
‘Die For You’ was first released in 2016. And its reworked edition went on to clinch the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list earlier in March.
This is the seventh number-one hit for both The Weeknd and Grande. They have paired up to work on other hits like ‘Love Me Harder’, ‘Off the Table’ and the remix of ‘Save You Tears’.
Breaking records, Blinding Lights
The 2020 track ‘Blinding Lights’ is the most streamed song on Spotify! It recently scored over 3.47 billion listens according to the musci streaming platform.
It is also the longest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 of all time, with a total of 90 weeks on the chart!
‘Starboy’ is the The Weeknds most listened to songs of all time on Spotify.
The Weeknd is no stranger to Guiness World Records. In 2016 he received two certificates. One was for having the most streamed album on Spotify in 2015. And another for most consecutive weeks on the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 by a solo male artist.
