The warning is for the severity of wind that can be expected until tomorrow (Thursday). The City of Cape Town is predicted to be missing the worst of the wind however an Orange level 6 warning for rainfall for the city are forecast until tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning MEC Anton Bredell says widespread damage to formal and informal settlements is likely as well as the disruption of essential services. This is a concern on all major motorways including the N1, N7 and N14.
