TikTok is no longer a place just for ‘young people’. The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger have all officially joined the social media platform.
More than sixty years ago, a chance meeting between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards at a train stations led to the emergence of one of the greatest rock and roll bands in history. The two shared a love of Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry.

The iconic band, The Rolling Stones, are responsible for hits like ‘Miss You’, ‘Start Me Up’ and ‘It’s Only Rock N Roll’. And now, these tracks will be available on the TikTok Sounds Page – enabling creators to use the tracks in their video creations. Users will also be able to create covers and remixes of the tracks. Users can access The Rolling Stones’ full music catalogue on the platform.

Frontrunner, Mick Jagger, has also joined TikTok with a personal account (@jagger). His band mate Keith Richards, arrived on the platform last year (@officialkeef). Fans will be delighted to know that their accounts, and the band’s official channel, feature behind-the-scene content from live shows, studio recordings and archived footage among others.
The band’s first first videos encourage fans to perform, move and dress like the Stones!
In honour of the band joining the platform, TikTok plans to launch the official hashtag #TheRollingStones. Users can get involved in the celebrations by sharing their best covers and remixes of their favourite songs. Sped up versions or acoustic renditions are all welcome!
Fans of The Rolling Stones on TikTok can now also enjoy a brand new guest playlist, that was curated by the band members themselves. It features 44 hits from their catalogue including ‘Angie’ and ‘Beast of Burden’ among others.

The hashtags #TheRollingStones and #RollingStones have garnered over 500 million views. TikTok creators are paying homage to the band legacy through ‘finish the lyric’ challenges, appreciation posts, impressions and instrumental covers. Some have predicted that with the enthusiasm and creativity already displayed on TikTok, The Rolling Stones will grow in popularity on the platform.
