The health department says 2 383 new coronavirus infections have been reported in the country, in the latest monitoring period.

Another 72 people have died from covid-19-related illnesses, taking the death toll to 55 874. The Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, says since the previous report, 3 645 people have been vaccinated, taking the total to 651 628.
