Steep fuel price hike looming

Fuel might just be the perfect gift this Valentine’s Day, as motorists are in for another steep fuel price increase next Wednesday 7 February. According to unaudited month-end data from the Central Energy Fund, the price of petrol could rise by between 72 and 75 cents per litre.

 

Meanwhile, the cost of diesel will likely rise by 70 to 73 cents per litre.

If the forecast is correct, road users will then pay R22.52 for a litre of 95 Unleaded at the coast and R23.24 in the inland regions, where 93 Unleaded should climb to about R22.89 per litre.
