President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced adjusted Level 4 of the lockdown will be extended by another two weeks, until 25 July 2021.
The ban on alcohol sales remains in place. Restaurants will be able to open – they may not accommodate more than 50 people or 50% of capacity. Gyms will also be able to open under similar conditions.
Schools will remain closed until 26 July.

President Ramaphosa reiterated the UIF has decided that the COVID-19 TERS scheme should be extended to sectors that are affected by Adjusted Level 4 restrictions.
President Cyril Ramaphosa also used his address to condemn the sporadic, but increasingly violent, protests in some parts of the country over the last few days.
Ramaphosa says the country will not tolerate acts of criminality. He says those who are involved in acts of violence will be arrested and prosecuted.
