President Cyril Ramaphosa last night announced adjusted Level 4 regulations as South Africa continues to battle a third coronavirus wave.

Restaurants can now open for sit-down meals, the government’s employees’ relief scheme is set to be extended, but alcohol remains banned. Ramaphosa says hospitals are under immense pressure. All social, political, religious and other gatherings remain prohibited. The curfew remains in place. Schools will remain closed until 26 July and wearing a mask when in public remains mandatory.
