Time is flying by too quickly for the team in Memphis. We almost want to ask Delta Airlines and Memphis Tourism to keep us here longer! But we need to come come and giveaway a holiday worth half a million rand to YOU – find all those details here.
Here’s what we’ve been getting up to in the land of the Delta Blues on days 3 and 4 of our trip:
Graceland
A trip to Memphis isn’t complete without visiting the home of Elvis Presley. Elvis lived in the mansion from 1957 until his death in 1977 and is now a beloved shrine for his fans, attracting over half a million people from around the world every year. We’d suggest at least a half a day to those of you who would plan a trip to Graceland – with museums, restaurants, gift shops, and more to experience. And of course there’s a tour of his private residence.
The best way to see Memphis – in a 1955 Cadillac
Tad Pierson owns a tour company called American Dream Safari and he knows Memphis and it’s music history like the back of his hand. He drives visitors around town in a 1955 Cadillac while sharing stories about the city’s history, telling guests about the rich music culture of the blues clubs, and all the famous Memphis landmarks, as well as some off-the-wall sites that not many people get to see in the city.
