Manchester United could get ‘for sale’ sign

Published on

Manchester United fans could soon be getting exactly what they’ve been begging for – new ownership.

The Club has been in a spin since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. During the Fergie years, which spanned from 1986 to 2013, United won 13 Premier League Championships, five FA Cups and two Champions League titles.

Since 2013, the Red Devils have managed to win some trophies. They have, however, been few and far between. The titles include one FA Cup win in the 2015/16 season, one Community Shield in the same year, one League (Carabao) Cup in 2016/17, and one Europa League cup, again, in the same year.

Renaldo gives “new” Man United 0 stars

Renaldo, who first departed from Old Trafford in 2009, revealed that not much has changed at the club. While he was bagging accolades and titles at Real Madrid and Juventus, Man United was stagnating.

“When I signed for Manchester United I thought everything (would have) changed because it was 13 years (since I left),” said Renaldo in the exclusive interview with Piers Morgan.

“I was surprised, in a bad way, because I saw everything was the same. Nothing changed –  the pool, the jacuzzi, even the Gym, even some points of technology. It surprised me a lot, I thought I would see different things – different technology, infrastructure. But, unfortunately, (I saw) many things that I’m used to seeing when I was 20.”

“Since Sir Alex Ferguson left, I saw no evolution in the club – the progress was zero.”

Renaldo won’t return to Old Trafford when the 2022 Fifa World Cup reaches its conclusion. It was confirmed that Renaldo and United will part ways with immediate effect.

Justification for Red Devils

Manchester United fans should feel vindicated by the comments of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Piers Morgan exchange.

The interview put the English Premier League club in an awkward position, especially their owners, who are now considering selling the club. Sources revealed that they have made the first steps toward a sale.

Glazers out

Fans have pinned the decline of the club on the owners. The supporters claim that the Glazer family has no interest in growing the game of football or improving the club.

In a recent report on Sky News, they said that fans regularly chant “Love United, hate Glazers”.

The Glazer takeover happened midway through 2005 amid huge protests from Manchester United fans. The deal costs the Glazers £790m. While the club was debt-free before the takeover, the deal has reportedly put united in debt of around £500m.

They have reportedly instructed investment bankers to advise the club on a full or partial sale, or strategic partnership with a third party.
