iSmile – Tech may prove to be the fountain of youth

Published on

Longevity is a topic that has intrigued and captured the public’s imagination since the beginning of time.

Over the centuries, there have been many fantastical tales of elixirs and potions that prolong life. Who isn’t fascinated about stories of people who are 300 or 500 years old; and who doesn’t wonder what they would do with all the living-time on their hands?

In the iSmile Report, I have also touched on it before; but the serial digital entrepreneur and futurist Salim Ismail peaked my interested again when he spoke about the fact that humans are now living longer than we ever have before.

And even more shocking is the fact that this is set to double in the next ten years, all thanks to things like bio-technology and life-prolonging procedures and medications.

So with death ruining many a plan, a very long and healthy life seems entirely possible in the very near future.

Salim says it’s going to require a huge mind-switch for society, especially when it comes to things like marriage and religion, for example.
